In partnership with Ford Warriors in Pink, this Meditative Gentle Flow class is designed for breast cancer patients, survivors and their caregivers. This practice is ideal for anyone going through, or having gone through treatment. It introduces a sequence of gentle movements and yoga poses that are ideal for improving range of motion and restoring emotional balance. Participants will release tension, find more depth in postures, increase stamina and energy, while balancing the mind and body. Each of the restorative, non-muscular poses will be held for longer periods of time in order to gently stretch and lengthen connective tissue.
The focus of Meditative Gentle Flow is to deeply re-connect with oneself with gentle somatic movements in a way that truly supports and cares for the whole body.
This class is offered in partnership with Ford Warriors in Pink - $10 will be donated for each participant in the class to the Young Survival Coalition (YSC), one of Warriors in Pink's four breast cancer charities, which aims to aid young women under 40 who are affected by the disease.
5-10 minutes of this class will feature inspiring words from a Model of Courage - Ford Warriors in Pink Models of Courage (MOCs) are survivors, thrivers and co-survivors who understand what it's like to be touched by breast cancer. True to their name, these women and men courageously faced the disease, and now use that same strength and determination to help raise awareness and funds for the cause.
Class time devoted to lecture: 11-20 minutes
